On Feb. 15, Blondie will celebrate 40 years of music-making with a performance on the BleauLive concert series at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, a place filled with allure, intoxicants, velvet and lip gloss. But we’re hoping the band –– now down to originals Harry, guitarist Chris Stein and drummer Clem Burke –– will pull out a few songs that Harry and Stein wrote in their CBGB days… say, “Rip Her to Shreds” or “In the Flesh.”
The eclectic BleauLive series, which has ranged from Robin Thicke to the Band Perry, has ostensibly been a guests-only weekend getaway package, and with its proximity to Valentine’s Day, the Blondie show should be popular (“Heart of Glass,” anyone?).
But the resort also is offering locals the chance to see the Blondie performance as part of the Signature Dinner & Show package. For $175 per person, you get a pre-show three-course meal at a Fontainebleau restaurant, two hours at the specialty cocktail bar and a pass to the concert.
There’s also the VIP Fan package, which gets you a deluxe room, two concert tickets, two hours at the bar and 2 p.m. checkout for $699 per night. The Heart of Glass package includes all of the above, plus the pre-show dinner, two spa treatments and a meet-and-greet with Blondie, for $799 per night.
