There is something in Matt Damon — “in the unsoothable anxiety of his gaze, and in the squat, wrestler’s physique that seems less buffed than primed to explode,” writes The New Yorker’s Anthony Lane — that wants to be big.
Sure, you could watch the actor in his “Elysium” half-metal jacket on a regular screen, but why not go all the way: Damon on IMAX.
Tickets are on sale now for a special 10 p.m. Thursday advance screening of “Elysium” in the AutoNation IMAX Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale. The politically resonant sci-fi thriller from Neill Blomkamp (“District 9”) opens in theaters across the country next weekend, and seems poised to dominate the box office. (As Lane rejoiced in his recent review: “At last, a good big film.”)
