The Grammy Award-winning folk-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords will tour America this summer, with dates including a stop July 16 at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton.
The “Flight of the Conchords sing Flight of the Conchords Tour” will be a showcase for new material for the New Zealanders, known to their parents and some friends as Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement.
The two mockumentarians, who came to fame in the U.S. with their hit 2008 self-titled HBO series and the Grammy-winning 2009 album “The Distant Future,” lately have been busy on many separate fronts. Clement has an upcoming role in the Steven Spielberg-directed film of Roald Dahl’s “The BFG,” and McKenzie, who won an Oscar in 2012 for the song “Man or Muppet,” is working on the soundtrack for Disney’s buzzed-about “Bob the Musical.”
Fans’ fears, or hopes, that the duo’s separation was permanent were laid to rest by McKenzie.
"I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half the original band,” he says in the tour announcement.
