Crowd-pleasing swamp-soul poet JJ Grey has been added to the lineup for the second annual Sunshine Music & Blues Festival on Jan. 18 at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton. The addition bolsters an already strong lineup headlined by the Grammy-winning Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Grey's fall tour in support of the new album "This River" and a new craft beer from Tampa's Rock Brothers Brewing Company, "Nare Sugar Brown," packed them in at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale over the weekend.
Other top Sunshine Music & Blues Festival performers include Leon Russell, Galactic, Hot Tuna (Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady), Stanley Clarke, the Ringers (with Jimmy Herring from Widespread Panic), Wayne Krantz, Michael Landau, Tab Benoit, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Oli Brown, Keith Carlock and Etienne Mbappe.
General-admission tickets are $49.50 at TicketMaster outlets or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000. Special reserved tickets will be $99.50, with some VIP packages also available.
