Rap revolutionary Kanye West will perform Dec. 4 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on a new leg of the Saint Pablo Tour that last month had two sell-out concerts at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.
Tickets cost $25.25-$125.25 and are scheduled to go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com and 800-745-3000. Presales via Ticketmaster, the Live Nation app and the BB&T Center begin at 10 a.m. Friday.
The tour supporting his top-selling album “The Life of Pablo” (which has two more hits climbing radio charts in the Kid Cudi collaboration “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” and “Fade”) has drawn nearly universal critical praise for its theatrical reimagining of the relationship between star and fan. West performs much of the show on floating platforms suspended just above the heads of fans on the floor.
The New York Times witnessed something sublime: “A beautiful expression of fanaticism engineered by an artist who uses frenzy as paint … a minimalist, elaborately efficient way to deliver an arena show… Mr. West’s live-show innovation is the latest in a year full of them; a reconsideration of the top-down power dynamic of large-scale live concerts for the age of social-media intimacy and immediacy.”
The tour also prompted the ridiculous, from City Pages in Minneapolis–St. Paul: "He is walking artistic affect, a creative powerhouse who hits you with the greatest light show you've ever seen, then subtly punctuates it with just Ye. Being in the presence of a genius, little is needed to accompany an entrance or exit. It is felt, known, cheered, and then mourned. God bless Kanye West, God bless America.”
