Chart-topping pop acts Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (“Downtown”) and Imagine Dragons (“Radioactive”) are the headliners of the inaugural Capital One Beach Bash, a free concert on South Beach Dec. 30.
The concert at Lummus Park (10th Street and Ocean Drive) is being put on by the sponsor of the Orange Bowl, the semifinal game in the College Football Playoff. The Capital One Orange Bowl, pitting Clemson against Oklahoma, is 4 p.m. Dec. 31 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Beach Bash requires no ticket, with admission on a first-come, first served basis. Gates open at 4 p.m.
The event includes celebrations for the participating teams, special appearances, beach games, vendors with event merchandise, food and beverages, and a beer garden. A fireworks show will close the evening at 10:30 p.m.
The concert will be streamed via the WatchESPN app, with portions of the concerts seen during halftime of the Dec. 31 broadcasts of the Orange Bowl and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
