Simone Biles, Meryl Davis, Charlie White, Nancy Kerrigan and South Florida resident Danell Leyva are some of the Olympic heroes past and present coming to the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Jan. 25 for the Colgate Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular.
Tickets for the exhibition will cost $25-$125 and go on sale 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com and 800-745-3000. Tickets will be available at the BB&T Center box office on Monday, Nov. 21.
The performances will be hosted by Olympic figure-skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi, three-time U.S. champion Michael Weiss, and Olympic gymnastics champions Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner. The musical guest for the show is Echosmith, the Los Angeles-based alt-pop band best known for the hit single “Cool Kids.”
Biles is the most decorated U.S. women's gymnast in history with 19 World and Olympic medals, including a record-tying five (four gold) at the 2016 Games. Other gymnasts performing will be 2016 Olympic silver medalist Leyva, 2016 Olympian Chris Brooks and 2015 World Games bronze medalist Donnell Whittenburg.
The 2014 Olympic figure-skating champions and two-time world champions, Davis and White are the most decorated dance team in U.S. figure-skating history. Along with Kerrigan, who won bronze at the 1992 Olympics and silver in 1994, the other skaters include two-time U.S. champion Alissa Czisny, U.S. champions Caydee Denney and John Coughlin, Carly Donowick and Wesley Campbell.
