Influential New York hip-hop MC, actor and political activist Nas and Puerto Rican actor and reggaeton star Don Omar are the headliners for the Soulfrito Urban Latin Music Festival at Sun Life Stadium on Feb. 22.
Nas (pictured) is an 11-time Grammy nominee with seven platinum albums and six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. In 2012, The Source ranked him No. 2 on their list of Top 50 Lyricists of All Time.
Don Omar has spent a decade as one of the top-selling Latin hip-hop artists, and he crossed over in a major way last year with the album “Don Omar Presents MTO2: The New Generation,” featuring the ubiquitous “Dutty Love” duet with Natti Natasha. The singer has been working on a new album, “The Last Don 2,” while pursuing a second career in drag racing.
Previous Soulfrito festival stars have included Pitbull, Wisin Y Yandel and Aventura. More performers are expected to be announced in the next several weeks.
