The Weeknd is bringing the chart-dominating music from his double-platinum album “Starboy” back to South Florida for an Oct. 24 show at Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena.
If it feels like only yesterday that the Weeknd was packing a South Florida arena, it almost was: His Starboy: Legend of the Fall 2017 World Tour landed at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on May 11.
Tickets for Miami’s stop among a new set of fall tour dates will cost $35.75, $95.75 and $171.75 at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000. Presales via the Live Nation Facebook page and the Live Nation mobile app continue through 10 p.m. Thursday.
Gucci Mane and NAV are scheduled to open the 7:30 p.m. show.
Few artists have been as prominent on the airwaves since the Weeknd released his fourth album, the critically lauded “Starboy,” last November. Led by a title-track collaboration with EDM stars Daft Punk, the album has been streamed more than 5 million times.
In addition to the No. 1 single “Starboy,” the album includes nine other songs that have made Billboard’s Top 50: “I Feel It Coming” (with Daft Punk), “Party Monster,” “Sidewalks” (with Kendrick Lamar), “Reminder,” “Six Feet Under,” “Die for You,” “Rockin’,” “All I Know” (with Future), “Secrets” and “True Colors.” Of course, before “Starboy,” he had No. 1 hits with “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills.”
