Charles Bradley, Wood Brothers to play Virginia Key

Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires, the Family Stone and the Wood Brothers join festival founders Donna the Buffalo among the headliners announced Monday for the Virginia Key Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance, returning to Miami Feb. 18-21.

The musical campout again will be preceded by Culture Camp, a four-day series of workshops on music, dance, yoga, cooking, sustainability and community building at historic Virginia Key Beach Park Feb. 14-17.

A festival's range of other nationally touring acts, including Jim Lauderdale, Rubble Bucket, Keith Frank and the Solieau Zydeco Band, Morikeba Kouyate and Driftwood, will be supported by a long list of popular South Florida performers. Among them will be Locos Por Juana, Suénalo, Spam Allstars, Lanzallamas, Afrobeta, Elastic Bond, the Baboons, DJ Bill Kelly, Telekinetic Walrus, Cortadito, Nag Champayons, Juke, Blue Jay and Brendan O'Hara.

Advance single-day tickets are $25 each day for concerts Feb. 18 and 19, $35 each day for admission Feb. 20-21. Four-day passes are $90 for adults ($100 beginning Jan. 1), $50 for ages 13-15. At the gate you’ll pay $30 each day Feb. 18 and 19, $40 each day Feb. 20-21. Four-day passes will be  $120 for adults at the gate,  $50 ages 13-15.

To pitch your tent, it’s $60 for four days. Vehicle camping is $140 for four days, $200 for RV camping.
