Good afternoon, South Florida. And ho, ho, ho.

1. Must be SantaCon

Barbara Corbellini Duarte and Talia J. Medina this weekend visited Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach, respectively, to document acts of sacrilege -- sorry, Christmas spirit -- at the annual bar crawls collectively known as SantaCon. Subtitle this one, "I Saw Mommy Getting a Lap Dance From Santa Claus, and Other Scenes From the Death of My Childhood."

2. All the way

If you skipped this year's Y100 Jingle Ball, you missed Fifth Harmony performing in Florida Panthers jerseys, LunchMoney Lewis wearing a "Ride the Lightning" T-shirt and the Chainsmokers not catching fire.

3. Run, Young Ron, run

"It's just some old guy retiring, taking a break from work for a while. That's all it really is," Ron Brewer, the now former co-host of "The Paul and Young Ron Show," told Ben Crandell at the final broadcast of the morning-drive program on which he appeared with Paul Castronovo for more than 20 years on stations such as Big 105.9-FM. "Ray Donovan" actor Steven Bauer, filmmaker Billy Corben and retired football player Dan Marino visited the Fort Lauderdale Improv Friday morning to watch Brewer sign off.

4. Don't be home for Christmas

Dining writer Mike Mayo offers 10 restaurants that will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Yes, you'll probably want to make a reservation, and, yes, you probably should invite your family.

5. Baby, it's odd outside

Rod Stafford Hagwood recently took in a performance of Cirque du Soleil's "Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities," running through Jan. 29 at Hard Rock Stadium (where Dan Marino's old football team plays). Funniest bit: "Mini Lili, a character played by Antanina Satsura, makes her first big appearance (pun intended). Satsura is 3 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds. Whenever she's onstage, Gary's eyes sparkle. It's probably not relevant, but Gary is an avid doll collector."
