In South Florida playwright Stuart Meltzer's new work, "The Goldberg Variations," a family gets together to recognize the birthday of an 86-year-old woman named Bessie. There is, as Christine Dolen writes in her review, "one peculiar wrinkle: Grandma has been dead for 21 years." Surprise!

On Friday night, Fort Lauderdale's summer concert series Starlight Musicals returned to Holiday Park with a performance by Jaded, an Aerosmith tribute band. Cady Herring was there to see if it was all done with mirrors.
