Andre Desjardins: Visual Emotionism:
The subjects of the Montreal-based sculptor and painter are often androgynous, nonracial and full of complex emotions, with faces rendered on jagged and cracked surfaces. The artist’s treatments on human emotion, from bronze statues to works on canvas, are part of an exhibition at the Coral Springs Museum of Art (2855 Coral Springs Drive), which is staging an artist reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday (5:30-6:30 p.m. for VIP and members). $10, free to museum members, and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, music and a meet-and-greet with Desjardins. 954-340-5000 or Csmart.org
