Secret Supper: Limited tickets available and they're going fast.

Beneath the Waves Film Festival: The idea for Breaking Waves originated in French Polynesia, when two Ph.D. candidates at the University of Miami were doing research in the crystal-clear waters off the islands. They realized that event though scientists often have access to the most amazing places in the world, little of this amazement transcends the journals that publish their work. So they created Beneath the Waves in 2009 to showcase films about ocean science. At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the NSU Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, the festival will screen short films about coral reefs, sharks and other marine species. Scientists from NSU's Oceanographic Center will speak following the screenings. Free. - Barbara Corbellini Duarte
