The movie adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play, "August: Osage County," is the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival's strongest offering of Oscar bait this year. Two months before its wide theatrical release, the comedy-drama starring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Ewan McGregor will screen Tuesday at Muvico Pompano 18 (2315 N. Federal Highway) and again at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St.).
