Santa isn't the only one who should party on Christmas Eve. Here are a few high-energy parties in South Florida worth considering if you're searching for fun on a slow night.
MatzoBall: Jewish singles ages 21 to 49 will gather at 9 p.m. for MatzoBall parties in three locations: Liv at the Fontainebleau (4441 Collins Ave. Miami Beach), Pangaea and Gryphon at the Hard Rock (5711 Seminole Ave., Hollywood), and Il Bacio in Delray Beach (29 SE Second Ave.). Tickets cost $50 at Liv, $30 for the other two parties, sponsored by the Society of Young Jewish Professionals and JDate. Call 561-300-4222 or go to MatzoBall.org. - Ben Crandell
The Eve Ball: If Festivus is the nondenominational fake holiday popularized by "Seinfeld' and celebrated every Dec. 23, then tonight's Eve Ball may be the afterparty. A mixer for anyone of any religion, single or otherwise, the Eve Ball at Boca Raton’s Butcher Block Grille (7000 W. Camino Real, No. 100) features electronica from DJ Smiles and $7 food specials, which include chicken shawarma, fried lobster mac ‘n’ cheese, Colorado lamb chop and steak tartare. Free with RSVP, and entry includes a salon certificate for a men’s or women’s haircut. 561-637-4490 or ButcherBlockGrill.com. - Phillip Valys
Jewbilee: Here's a reason to schlep to the dance floor on Christmas Eve. The second annual Jewish-themed gathering has live music from DJs Contra and Keen One, as well as vodka specials and something called “Drake-dels,” which will be handed to each reveler. Another incentive to leave the house: free Manischewitz will be flowing all night. 10 p.m. Tuesday at Blackbird Ordinary (729 SW First Ave., Miami). Free. 305-671-3307 or BlackbirdOrdinary.com. - Phillip Valys
