Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: Days before the 50th anniversary of his uncle's tragic trip to Dallas and less than two weeks after Typhoon Haiyan reminded us that our relationship to the planet's environment demands serious discussion, RFK Jr. brings expertise on both subjects to the Fort Lauderdale Speaker Series presented by Broward College at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW Fifth Ave.). Tickets begin at $33 and are available only via a subscription to the series (minimum order three programs), which includes Bob Woodward (Jan. 20), Jeannette Walls (Feb. 12), Michael Beschloss (March 12), Soledad O'Brien (April 23) and Jean-Michel Cousteau (May 21). All events begin at 8 p.m. 954-522-5334 or BrowardCenter.org. — Ben Crandell
