"August: Osage County": The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival offers the Florida premiere of the big-screen translation of Tracy Letts' hit play, anticipated as much for its Hollywood firepower (producers include Harvey Weinstein, George Clooney and Jean Doumanian; stars are Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Juliette Lewis and Sam Shepard) as its darkly humorous dissection of a family's old wounds. It screens at 8 p.m. at Muvico Pompano 18 (2315 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach). Tickets: $12, $10 seniors and students. Info: 954-525-3456, FLIFF.com. — Ben Crandell
