Music

Bobby Lee Rodgers: An endlessly versatile guitarist (the former instructor in the Berklee jazz program has plugged in at Wanee and at a Wes Montgomery tribute night), Rodgers just released an album of jazzy-bluesy gumbo titled "Firefly." But tonight at 7, the Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio will channel revered Brazilian composer-guitarist-pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim at Rodgers' monthly Jazz Sessions salute to a favorite performer at the Green Room (109 SW Second Ave. Fort Lauderdale). $5. 954-449-1025 or JointheRevolution.net. — Ben Crandell

Free Like Me: Multi-instrumentalists Lucy Gallant (of Byron Bay, Australia) and Daniel Urbina (from Mérida, Venezuela) traffic in a global sound often out of favor: happy music. They want you to dance, and smile. Maybe at the same time. And leave your cynicism at home. Catch Free Like Me 9 p.m. Thursday at PAX (337 SW Eighth St., Miami). $10. 305-640-5847 or PAXMiami.com. — Ben Crandell

Quadski demonstration: If you don't know what a quadski is, you have plenty of company. But it's a prize on Monday at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., SeminoleCasinoCoconutCreek.com). So the casino will give a free demonstration of the GIBBS Quadski, the amphibious personal watercraft, at 10 a.m. Thursday at the lake in front of the casino. The Quadski features all-terrain tires, reaches speeds of 45 mph on water and land, and transitions between them at the press of a button. — Nick Sortal
