To do Thursday: An al fresco "Rent," Thomas Rhett and "Amid the Street Noise" at MOAFL

Rent: We don't have 525,600 reasons for you to see "Rent," so you'll have to settle for one: The Andrews Living Arts Studio's production of the Broadway juggernaut will be performed al fresco. The setting will be the graffiti-abundant warehouse arts district of Fort Lauderdale's FAT Village, and the cast will use the urban-chic backdrop to rattle off its familiar musical numbers. Jonathan Larson's modern spin on Giacomo Puccini's opera "La Bohème" concludes June 16, with an 8 p.m. showtime Thursday. $19.95-$29.95. 800-838-3006 or — Phillip Valys

Thomas Rhett: His "Beer With Jesus" single logged a bit of airtime on country radio, but Thomas Rhett is just as well known for his co-writing. That includes Jason Aldean's "1994," an homage to Joe Diffie. Rhett, whose new single is "It Goes Like This," will perform 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Cowboys Saloon, 1805 S. University Drive, in Davie. Ricky Valido and the Hialeah Hillbillies will open. $15; $30 includes an open bar. — Nick Sortal

"Amid the Street Noise: Films on the Terrace": The host of this third annual short-film festival is All Together Now, a gathering of creative types ages 21 through 39 who stage their semi-regular art events on the second-floor balcony of the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale. The setting will be no different 8 p.m. Thursday, when local artists Studio GPK, Miami Beer Tour and others screen their shorts against the terrace's white wall. $5, includes cash bar. Seating is limited, so bring your own chair or blanket. 954-262-0245 of — Phillip Valys
