Top events Thursday: From Morrissey to Emeril

"Morrissey 25: Live": Earlier this year, this charming man filmed a career-spanning gig at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles — a more-intimate venue than the venerable Smiths frontman usually plays — and kept the between-song patter to a minimum. Instead, the concert, which reportedly sold out in 12 seconds, shows the singer performing a roster of solo and Smiths classics, ("Everyday Is Like Sunday," "Please, Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" and "The Boy With the Thorn in His Side"). Screens at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Boca's iPic Theatres (301 Plaza Real) and 4 p.m. Sunday. $14-$24. 561-299-3000 or Valys

"Emeril's Florida": Emeril Lagasse has been shining the spotlight on the Sunshine State with his 13-episode Food Network series "Emeril's Florida." On Thursday's show, Lagasse visits 1500 Degrees at the Eden Roc Miami Beach, Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables and Area 31 in downtown Miami, cooking along with chefs at each restaurant. He then gives viewers a look at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and Miami Seaquarium. And no Miami show would complete without a glimpse of the Magic City's nightlife. 9:30 a.m. on the Food Network. — John Tanasychuk

"Waist Watchers, the Musical": There are only a handful of performances remaining of this parody musical written by local impresario Alan Jacobson. Popular tunes are twisted to tell the travails of four women in a gym dealing with aging, weight, dieting and the men in their lives. Catch tonight's show at 7:30 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre, 262 S. Ocean Blvd., in Manalapan. $45. 561-588-1820 or — Rod Stafford Hagwood
