"Second Nature": A half-dozen contemporary artists — Amze Emmons, Gregory Euclide, Charles Kanwischer, David Linneweh, Amanda Smith and Shona Macdonald — probe the history of landscape painting at the Rosemary Duffy Larson Gallery's new exhibit, opening with a 6-9 p.m. reception Thursday. Farmlands, decomposing urban sprawl and consumerism are reflected in the mixed-media works, to be discussed by Linnewah and Macdonald during a 7:30 p.m. confab at the Broward College Central Campus (3501 SW Davie Road, Building 6, Davie). "A Tres Bandas": The affectionate traveling exhibition bows Thursday night with an interactive display celebrating Latin American music. An official Viva Florida 500 event, the show is like a walk-through music box, filled as it is with interactive touch-screens, photography, displays of folkloric and modern musical instruments, listening stations and dance steps diagrammed on the floor to teach visitors the particulars of cha-cha-cha and merengue. The opening reception is 7 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Español Miami (1490 Biscayne Blvd.), paired with a lineup of dance, theater and music workshop through Oct. 27. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and by appointment.
