To do Tuesday: Caribbean Canvases and Frames, "Annie Leibovitz" and Killswitch Engage

Caribbean Canvases and Frames: Here's an idea: Skip the summer vacation to the Cayman Islands and visit the Miramar Cultural Center instead. Hear us out. The island-themed paintings and photos posted in the venue's upstairs Ansin Family Gallery will at least look like the real thing, coming as they do from artists Philippe Dodard, Franklin Sinanan, photojournalist Carl Juste, lifestyle photographer David I. Muir and others. The show, celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month, opens with a 5:30-9 p.m. cocktail reception. Free. Info: 954-602-4521 or — Phillip Valys

"Annie Leibovitz": This is the final week to catch a survey of more than three dozen images by the renowned photographer at the Norton Museum of Art (1451 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach). The works, up through Sunday, include rarely seen portraits of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, David Byrne and Andy Warhol. Admission: $12, $5 students, ages 12 and younger free. Info: 561-832-5196, — Ben Crandell

Killswitch Engage: The Grammy-nominated metalcore outfit has a new album, "Disarm the Descent," and an old lead singer, with original frontman Jesse Leach taking over for longtime vocalist Howard Jones. Hear cuts from the new album ( calls it "a massive breath of fresh air") at Revolution Live (100 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $29 ($32 at door). Info: 954-449-1025, – Ben Crandell
