To do Tuesday: National Book Award winner Colum McCann, "Devil Wears Prada" author Lauren Weisberger and PBS' "Music Voyager"

Colum McCann: The New York-based, Irish-born writer won the National Book Award in 2009 for his seventh novel, "Let the Great World Spin," and deservedly so. It's a magnificent, moving work that braids the stories of several New Yorkers during the 1970s into a cohesive, elegiac narrative about love and loss. Last week, McCann published a follow-up, "TransAtlantic," which skips across continents and centuries and is already being met with rapturous reviews. He'll read from it 8 p.m. Tuesday at Books and Books in Coral Gables. Free. — Jake Cline

Lauren Weisberger: The author of "The Devil Wears Prada" has a new sequel out this month, "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns," setting the action 10 years after Andy Sachs quit her gig at Runway magazine, where she worked for the fierce Miranda Priestly. Now married, she's founded a rival bridal mag but, naturally, can't shake the broad reach of her former employer. To celebrate the book's release, Weisberger will appear at a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Splendid store in the Aventura Mall. Watch party

"Music Voyager": The TV travelogue that has explored obscure music scenes in Africa, South America and Asia, came to downtown Hollywood in December, where it focused on hot spots such as Native Florida Tap Room and Music Hall, Cuenca Cigars and Le Tub, and music from locals including Julius Pastorius, Way of the Groove and Oriente. The show will air on WPBT-Ch. 2 at 7:30 p.m., when Cuenca Cigars (1928 Harrison St.) hosts a watch party featuring 20 percent off beer, wine and cigars. WPBT will repeat the show at 10:30 p.m. July 12. 866-417-9454 or Ben Crandell
