Events to do Tuesday: Juanita Dixon, the Mardi Gras Casino's Blinko and The Saturday Giant

The Saturday Giant: Phil Cogley's one-man-jam-band project makes liberal use of the looping pedal, a piece of equipment that allows the Columbus, Ohio, musician to rebuild his catalog of atmospheric pop-rock from scratch onstage. Although he has three EPs, including a science-fiction concept release titled "You've Heard of Dragons," filled with the Saturday Giant's blips, bloops and beatboxing, expect the musician to use zero canned tracks when he performs 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery (2621 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton). Another thing to expect: Cogley, busy recording his debut album, may test his new tracks on the Buddha crowd. $5. 561-368-4643 or — Phillip Valys

Juanita Dixon: The nights when the soul singer was paired with Dr. Lonnie Smith at O'Hara's on Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Boulevard were famous for a bluesy-boozy authenticity that paid no attention to the clock on the wall. Good times. Dixon will perform with the Jeff Prine Band at 8 p.m. at Blue Jean Blues (3320 NE 33rd St., Fort Lauderdale). 954-306-6330 or — Ben Crandell

Blinko: A variation of "The Price Is Right" game Plinko, Blinko can be played from 1 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Mardi Gras Casino (831 N. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach). Each hour, the casino selects slot players who have earned at least 75 points to take a shot at the game, which involves sliding large discs down a board studded with pegs and awards a total of $75,000 in cash. 954-924-3200 or — Nick Sortal
