Top events Tuesday: From small-batch brews to chocolate comas

New Belgium launch party: The Fort Collins, Colo.-based craft brewery, the third largest in the country, is handing South Florida a taste of the Rockies at 7 p.m. Tuesday during a bottle-release party at craft pub Tap 42 (1411 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Known for its toasty Fat Tire amber ale, Sunshine Wheat pale ale and Lips of Faith Series of small-batch brews, New Belgium begins distribution in Florida this week. The first 100 craft guzzlers to snag a 22-ounce New Belgium bottle at Tap 42 will collect a swag bag, plus a raffle ticket to win a New Belgium bicycle. Free admission. 954-463-4900 or — Phillip Valys

Cinema a La Mode: It's Tuesday, which means you're desperate for anything to drag you over the Wednesday hump. Anything. We recommend the chocolate coma at Cinema Paradiso tonight, which is hosting a double-feature screening of Italian rom-coms "Lezioni di Cioccolato" ("Lessons of Chocolate") and its sequel, "Lezioni di Cioccolato 2." The films, screening at 6 p.m. in Italian with English subtitles, concern a 30-something building contractor in Perugia who enters a chocolatemaking competition. The theater's Michelle Filippi will prepare stuffed manicotti and tiramisu for guests at 7:40 p.m., followed by the sequel at 8:15 p.m. $12-$18. 954-525-3456 or Valys

"Mary Peck: Temples & Vistas": Peck is a photographer for whom a landscape is a story in the telling, which she has found in the American West, Europe and the Everglades. As a Stanford University Press blurb for her book "Away Out Over Everything" says, "Peck's contemplative photographs evoke the stillness and balance one can find by slowing down and simply paying attention." See for yourself today through Sunday as the Boca Raton Museum (501 Plaza Real) hosts the final week of its Peck exhibition. $5-$8. 561-392-2500 or — Ben Crandell
