To do Wednesday: Red Carpet Treatment at Mardi Gras Casino, Cuisine for Art and '3 Geezers'

Cuisine for Art: This 16th annual fundraiser to benefit all the good stuff going on at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood begins with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood), followed by dinner, drinks, live entertainment, and live and silent auctions (including vacation stays at the Hard Rock and a villa in the Dominican). Dinner will be served by celebrity waiters, including local politicos and media types such as WPLG's Jason Martinez and WSVN meteorologist Vivian Gonzalez. $125 (includes dinner, vodka cocktails, beer, wine and a drink, and light bites at the afterparty at Martorano's at Seminole Paradise). 954-921-3274 or — Ben Crandell

"3 Geezers": Veteran character actor J.K. Simmons is having a moment, with a new ABC sitcom ("Family Tools") and a leading role in an even more promising vehicle, an in-production, 1980s-set D.J. Nash comedy co-starring Parker Posey. But for now, there is "3 Geezers," in which Simmons plays an actor researching a role at a convalescent home. The oddball list of famous faces to appear in "3 Geezers" includes Tim Allen, Scott Caan, Kevin Pollak, Mike O'Malley, Breckin Meyer, Sam Raimi and actor-wrestler Randy Couture. The comedy begins a six-day run at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale) at 4 p.m. $10, $8 seniors/students, $6 members. 954-525-3456 or — Ben Crandell

Red Carpet Treatment: Mardi Gras Casino doesn't have a large concert hall, but it has connections. So it's offering the Red Carpet Treatment for patrons on Wednesday. Slot players who earn at least 15 points between 7 and 9 p.m. will have their names placed in a drawing for VIP tickets to the BB&T Center in Sunrise. The casino is at 831 N. Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach. 954-924-3200 or — Nick Sortal
