Artist of "Wonder Woman" comics will be honored at Florida International University in Miami.

Nerd alert! The 80-year-old comic book artist behind classic "Wonder Woman" comics will be honored at the Wonder Reception, celebrating the illustrator's 50-year career with DC Comics and Marvel Comics from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Florida International University's Wolfe University Center on its Biscayne Bay campus (3000 NE 151 St., Room 155, North Miami). Throughout his career, Delbo, winner of the San Diego Comic-Con's Inkpot Award in 2013, designed cover illustrations for "Transformers," "Batgirl," "Superman," "Thundercats," "The Beatles: Yellow Submarine" and "The Lone Ranger."
