'Orange County' special: Meet Tamra Barney Judge Friday in Fort Lauderdale

On “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Tamra Barney Judge deals with drama, gossip queens and nasty catfights. That’s one of the reasons the mother of four is looking forward to her mini vacation in South Florida.

“I’ve brought the whole family. We are planning on visiting the beaches, touring the Everglades and relaxing by the pool,” Judge says.

On Friday, she’ll host a party at Total Wine in Fort Lauderdale to promote her cachaçaÖ line, Cuca Fresca. In a phone interview, Judge talked “Real Housewives” and her recent nuptials to lawyer, Eddie Judge. Together they own a gym, CUTÖ Fitness in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. Their lavish wedding ceremony, which took place in June in Laguna Beach, will be featured Monday Sept. 2 in a special on Bravo.

What's your advice for divorced women looking for love? Is there such a thing as a second chance?

We have been married for two months now, and it feels amazing. I never thought I would find my soulmate, especially at 42. My advice is to learn to love yourself and the rest will fall into place. Never give up, and never settle.

You’re in great shape. Can you share any fitness tips?

Working out is great therapy and clears your head. Owning CUT Fitness and being there every day gives me the chance to jump into different classes all day long. My diet changed about two years ago. I eat only clean and healthy, and I juice with Nekter cleanse often. Your diet is a huge part of your results.

There was plenty of drama this season on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” How do you handle it?

I try not to bring it home with me. I treat it as a job. I just keep reminding myself, “If there was no drama, none of us would have a job.” Sometimes, I get sick of it, and I need to regroup. And every year, I say it's my last. But I get back right back into it year after year. I call it the Bravo drug.

I feel like women should empower each other, not put each other down. Don't you hate backstabbers?

Yes, I do agree. However, the nature of our show is not to empower women. So I get my fill of cattiness on the job. In my normal life, I am very quiet and keep to myself. Most people that meet me are very surprised.

Tamra Barney Judge will appear from 5 to 8 p.m. at Total Wine, 1906 Cordova Road, in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-828-9463 or go to
