Rose are red, violets are blue, here are some #ValentinesDay events so your weekend won't be poo

Ah, Valentine's Day. A time dedicated to reminding everyone how in love you are or are not. Don't let the haters get you down. Feb. 14 doesn't have to be all mushy-gushy or depressing at all.

We've found some activities that go beyond a candle-lit dinner for two. Whether you've been together for so long you can't remember your anniversary, are still feeling giddy from the new hand you're holding, or want to spend the night out with your pals, we've got you covered. Just promise you won't end up alone with Ben and Jerry.

For the singles

Cupid's Undie Run

Grab your running shoes, take off your clothes and head to Wynwood on Saturday for Cupid's Undie Run. The one-mile run brings awareness to neurofibromatosis by raising funds for the Children's Tumor Foundation, all while sprinting in your skivvies. This is the first time the nationwide Undie Run, which claims to be the world's largest underwear run, comes to Miami. Doors open at noon with a pre-party before the jog. The run starts at 2 p.m. with an open bar lasting until 3:30 p.m. Registration is $55.

Partner Yoga

You'll need your roommate, your mom or any other human for this yoga session at Green Monkey. This won't be acrobatics, nor do you have to be super strong or flexible to enjoy. Green Monkey's partner yoga is meant to be fun while you and your friend help each other into deeper postures. Come for stretches and smiles at this two-hour practice on Saturday, Feb. 13. Sign up online, or call ahead, though drop-ins are also welcome. It's $35 per person to participate.

Dinner at Lips

Head to Fort Lauderdale's infamous drag diner on Sunday, Feb. 14 for a Valentine's themed diva celebrity impersonation show. The dinner-theater will serve a three-course meal starting with Caesar salad. Guests can choose between five entrée options, including chicken Marsala, salmon and lasagna. Cheesecake is the dessert. The servers at Lips are also the performers, and all the excitement begins at 8 p.m.

For the new relationship

Love Boat

Hop on board the love boat for a romantic night of dancing at sea. Okay, it's not really a boat – it's a 125-foot, four-level luxury yacht known as the South Beach Lady. A $130 ticket for two will include a complimentary light buffet with items such as chicken, rice and salad. DJ Snap will play house, hip-hop, Top 40 and everything in between. Cash bars are available on all four levels. The ship will start boarding from Bayfront Park at 11:30 p.m. and departs at 12:30 a.m. Guest are expected to return to the dock at 4 a.m. Singles tickets are available for $75. Dress code is semi-formal for this 21+ event.

Jungle Island

Throughout the month of February, Jungle Island will provide a chance for you and your love to learn about the endangered lemurs of Madagascar. For $99 per person, you'll get entrance into the park as well as a hands-on interaction with the fuzzy antihero from Dreamworks's animated comedy. Then, you'll head to Parrot Cove for a beach picnic with a "s'mores-bord" of indulgent treats like brownies, cookies and milk. Spend the rest of your day letting your love run wild visiting the other animals and interactions at the zoological park.

Electric Piquete at Ball and Chain

Bring your ball and chain to Ball and Chain for a night of Latin funk. Hialeah's Electric Piquete band will play two sets at the little Havana's historic hotspot, starting at 10 p.m. The band will perform on the Pineapple Stage, a concrete band shell with booming acoustics, on the outdoor patio. DJ Kenyi Succar will keep the Caribbean pulse pounding up through the wood-vaulted ceilings as he spins the decks inside. There will be no cover to visit retro-Cuban bar, but be sure to try their double espresso chocolate Valentine's martini ($12). Valet parking is $8 and highly recommended as parking can be a hassle around that area.

Affairs of the Heart

Here's a dinner and dancing option for you and your boo. The 16th annual Affairs of the Heart is a formal event at the Marriot hotel in West Palm with proceeds aiding a scholarship program for Filipino-American high school students. Hors d'oeuvres are available at 7 p.m. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m., which includes salad, salmon, chicken, vegetables, dinner rolls, chocolate and carrot cakes. DJ Linus Alo will spin Top 40 hits and classics like the Electric Slide to dance through the night. Tickets are $70.

Weekend get-away at the Mandarin Oriental

Indulge in a luxurious staycation at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami. Couples can enjoy a number of romantic resort packages at the hotel's five-star spa, from two hours of VIP treatment and champagne to side-by-side massages. Packages can be purchased as a gift for one or as a bundle for two. Continue getting pampered after your spa session with romantic meals at either Azul or La Mar. Azul will offer a five-course aphrodisiac-infused menu from Feb. 12-14, from 7-11 p.m., for $350 per couple.

La Mar's a la carte menu ranges from $19-$39 per dish, and is available from 11:30 a.m-11 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 13, and from 6-11 p.m. on Feb. 14. Menu items include lobster cebiche and arroz cremoso (creamy rice) with burrata cheese water and grilled bay scallops. Those wanting to stay at the hotel can book the "Be My Valentine Package" for $747 per night, which provides accommodations in a deluxe room with a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries as well as a full breakfast with mimosas.

Tango Obsession

Set fire to your flame with a night of spicy Argentine tango. There will be live singing by international Argentine singer Humberto Fortuna as well as a full orchestra. The bilingual, multimedia show will incorporate photos, animation, paintings and music as you journey through the history of tango from the 30s to modern day. The show is on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Manuel Artime Theater. Tickets range from $25-$45.

Miami Seaquarium

Grab your bestie and head to the Miami Seaquarium for some aquatic fun. Through the month of February, the Seaquarium will offer a free photo package with the booking of an animal encounter. Interactions include swimming with dolphins or seals as well as an underwater reef experience. The park is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Pin-ups and Portraits

West Palm's Jacque James will take complimentary photos of you and your besties while you're at the gallery. Pinups and Portraits is an art show all about girl power. The show features powerful women in photos and paintings. There will also be a car show for you to show off your whip. The only prize will be bragging rights. Ps561 food truck will be at Slushbox cooking up hot dogs and veggie dogs. Tequesta's Twisted Whisk bakery will serve sweets. Pin-ups and portraits is from 7-11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Mardi Gras at the Museum

Aside from Valentine's Day, February means Mardi Gras. Fort Lauderdale's Historical Society and Strange True Tours are teaming up to throw a Mardi Gras ball, themed "Love is in the Air." Dress up in your best garb and enter in a costume contest, with awards going to the best couple, best group and most original costumes. Prizes include gift cards to the New Orleans-style restaurant Rosey Baby in Lauderhill, tickets to Crawdebauchery Food and Music Festival and Panama Jack bikes. Award-winning blues band Iko-Iko will keep the entertainment going all night. A $35 ticket will get you food, drinks and beads.

For a girls' night out

Tony Valentine's Girls Nite Out

Ohhhweeee. This may be the best girls night out ever. For one night only, Boca Black Box Center for the Arts will host the "Tony Valentine's Girls Nite Out" tour starring the infamous Chippendale dancers. The show is Thursday, Feb. 11 from 8-10 p.m. Tickets start at $29, though $40 will get you a VIP table.

Red, Rock and Roll

This rock 'n' roll happy hour in downtown Delray Beach is a party with a purpose. Rock band Dakota Rose will jam through the night at SoLita Italian. There will be happy hour prices on menus as well as raffles and drawings. A drink ticket and passed appetizers are included in the $20 ticket. Plus, proceeds from the event benefit My Own Home Project, which helps teens who age out of foster care and have no belongings. The party is from 6-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11.
