South Florida Vietnam War vets will sign copies of the memoir they co-authored, "The Vietnam War: Black Bullets, Flashbacks, and Untold Truths," on Friday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center.

"Vietnam War: Black Bullets, Flashbacks, and Untold Truths": In the memoir they co-authored, 23 black Vietnam War vets from South Florida recall the trials of serving in Vietnam, rampant black discrimination and the post-traumatic stress that followed. The locals, all part of VFW Post 8195 in Lake Park, will appear at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) to sign copies of their autobiography and advocate for better PTSD services for veterans. A documentary about a therapy group consisting of Iraq and Afghanistan vets will also be screened. 2-6 p.m. Free. 954-357-6282 or Broward.org/library.
