SunFest: Ailing Dickey Betts out, Foghat in

Citing health concerns, guitar legend Dickey Betts will not perform Saturday afternoon at SunFest, where classic rockers Foghat will play instead.

An alert from SunFest officials Wednesday morning said Betts, the Allman Brothers founder and a West Palm Beach native, had canceled a 3:45 p.m. performance by his band, Great Southern, on the Tire Kingdom Stage “under the direction of his doctor and health care professionals.”

Betts canceled a show earlier this month in St. Petersburg, again citing his health, JamBands.com reported. Concerts slated for Chicago last weekend were also rescheduled for August, according to DickeyBetts.com.

The British quartet Foghat is best known for '70s hits such as "Slow Ride" and "Fool for the City."
