Zac Brown Band to play Everglades benefit in Palm Beach

The Zac Brown Band will add to its respectable history of charitable music-giving when the versatile country jammers play the ninth annual ForEverglades Benefit at the Breakers Palm Beach on Feb. 15.

The ZBB, whose album “Uncaged” won the best country album at the 2013 Grammy Awards, joins a roster of headliners at this event that has over the years included  Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews, Sting, John Mellencamp, ZZ Top, Gloria Estefan and Diana Ross.

Tickets begin at $1,000. It is the Everglades, after all. And Palm Beach. Proceeds will go to the nonprofit Everglades Foundation, the charitable organization that has advanced scientific research and environmental policy for Everglades restoration since 1993.

For a taste of what they’ll play at the Breakers, the Zac Brown Band is scheduled to perform on the 47th annual CMA Awards telecast on Wednesday (ABC, 8 p.m.) with the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, said to be helping out with the band’s next album.
