Broward Sheriff's detectives are looking for two men seen on surveillance video stealing motors from boats.
The video shows two men duck behind boat trailers to hide from passing cars while lurking through Dusky Marine at 110 North Bryan Road about 10:35 p.m. Friday.
The men, while carrying a tool bag, cut open the compound's fence and removed the lower portions of six boat motors, each valued between $2,500 and $5,000. They hoisted the stolen motor parts over a fence and then drove off with them in a red Chrysler PT Cruiser, detectives said.
Boatyard burglaries are a growing problem. A month earlier, Paul Ellis Smith, 29, of Pembroke Pines, and Jennifer Ashley Comsa, 25, of Hollywood, were arrested and accused of at least a dozen burglaries at three boatyards in two weeks, sheriff's investigators said.
Police ask anyone with information about this latest burglary is asked to call Detective Ronald Herrera at 954-518-0158 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477 or go to browardcrimestoppers.org.
