Victoria Heir hit her mother in the face after the two got into an argument in their home in the 4000 block of Northwest Seventh Court over whether Heir was going to school that morning, according to an arrest report.
Police said they received a 911 phone call at 11:39 a.m. on Tuesday, but the caller was not on the line and police could only hear voices arguing in the background.
When police arrived, they found Heir's mother had a cut in her inner mouth caused by Heir hitting her in the face, according to the report. The argument started when Heir's mother woke her up to go to school.
Heir told her mother she was sick and wasn't going to school that day, to which her mother told Heir she was turning off her phone from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. if she stayed home, police said.
Her mother got online and turned her daughter's phone off, according to the report, and the two continued to argue. Heir's mother packed a bag of Heir's things and threw it outside.
Angry at her mother, Heir went over to the computer and attempted to turn her phone back on. When her mother went to pull the computer's power cord, Heir swung at her mother and hit her in the mouth, police said.
Her mother told police she didn't know whether Heir hit her with an open or closed fist.
When police arrived to the family's home, Heir's father was keeping the two women separated.
Heir has been charged with simple battery, according to the report. She was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on her own recognizance, according to jail records.
