Police investigate man's shooting death in Hollywood

The killing of a man by gunfire in Hollywood Monday night is being investigated by police in that city.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 9:45 p.m. and found a gunshot victim at 2012 N. Dixie Highway, Hollywood Police Lt. Nikki Coffin said.

He was declared dead at the scene by Hollywood Fire Rescue, she said.

Police Tuesday identified him as Duran Rivera, 25. The police report listed Rivera's address as the Broward Outreach Center, 2056 Scott St.

A witness told police a man dressed all in black and a woman wearing a tank top, her hair in a ponytail, were running from the area after the shooting, Coffin said.
