A kayaker from Miramar who had been missing from Oleta River State Park in North Miami has been found, officials said late Thursday morning.
Vivian Ellis, 31, was located by personnel from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, said agency spokesman Jorge Pino.
Ellis was found in an area of trees and vegetation after his empty kayak had been located. After speaking with wildlife officers, he was brought to shore, Pino said. No other information about his recovery was available.
Ellis had rented a kayak from Blue Moon Rental on Wednesday afternoon and was reported missing when he failed to return by evening.
