The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating to see if there is a link between a body found in Clewiston and a missing Palm Beach Gardens woman.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw told Sun Sentinel news partner CBS-12 Friday that detectives investigating the disappearance of school nurse Kimberly Lindsey are also working with their counterparts in Hendry County.
Bradshaw said the initial reports are that the body is that of a woman.
"We don't know a lot right now, obviously we're interested in it because the initial information is that it was a female," Bradshaw said. "That's really all we know right now, detectives are on the route over there."
Lindsey, 49, has been missing since Oct. 27 and is feared by relatives and investigators to be in danger.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera issued a press release Thursday night that said on late Thursday afternoon, Sheriff's detectives in Palm Beach County learned that "an unidentified body was located in the Hendry County-Fort Myers area."
"Detectives will follow up with Hendry County Sheriff's Office, Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff's Office to determine if this unidentified body has any ties to Palm Beach County," Barbera said in the email@example.com, 561-243-6609, or Twitter @BrettClarkson_
