Ashley Greene, best known for portraying a vampire in the five "Twilight" films, had been set to appear Friday and Saturday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood but has canceled, promoters said Thursday.
But there's a pretty good reason: Greene, who is cast as Barbara Gordon in the upcoming "Batman: Arkham Knight," is held up because of runovers in filming.
Still, there is the Charity Series of Poker, which benefits Habitat for Humanity International and Habitat for Humanity of Broward. At noon Saturday, is the Seminole Hard Rock Poker main event.
Entry is still open for both events. It costs $300 to enter Friday, and prizes include a seat in Saturday's $5,250 buy-in main event, a six-night vacation and signed NFL jerseys.
At 2 p.m. Tuesday, four tournaments will conclude simultaneously at Hard Rock Live, with Phil Hellmuth announcing. Go to SHRPO.com.
Meanwhile, another free poker tournament with $10,000 in guaranteed prize money is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Big Easy Poker Room at Mardi Gras Casino. Entry tickets will be available at the cashier's cage at 10 a.m.
Seminole Coconut Creek poker players have an incentive for sitting down at the tables in August: Those who accumulate at least 30 hours of play are eligible to enter a free tournament at 6 p.m. Sept. 15. The tournament awards entry into the upcoming Coco Poker Open.
