5 car giveaways this week at casinos

(Sorry, this was to have been posted on Friday, my fault.)

Five South Florida casinos have end-of-the-month car giveaways – if you count a car inspired by “The Munsters.”

Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino (901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-454-7000, gives away a $75,000 Drag-U-La on Wednesday. For those who didn’t watch “The Munsters” in the 1960s, the Drag-U-La is like a coffin on wheels, with the rest of the vehicle resembling an Indy race car. Nothing you’ll take to Publix, but you would look cool cruising A1A. The drawing is at 10 p.m.

Seminole Classic Casino (4150 N. State Road 7, 954-961-3220, completes its “Classic Drive ‘Em Wild” promotion this week. Every 30 minutes, from noon – 6:30 p.m. Sunday, two players will be chosen with one qualifying for the grand prize. Then at 6:30 p.m., all qualifying participants will choose an envelope. One player will win a Toyota Camry and the others $400 in free play.

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., 954-977-6700, holds a Double Take BMW Giveaway from 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Two players every half-hour select a scale model BMW. Ten will contain finalist invitations plus free play. The remaining eight will win only free play and be eliminated. Finalists will return after the 5 p.m. drawing and select another small car. One gets the Grand Prize BMW 4-Series. That’s the big car. The rest get $1,000 in free play.

The Isle Casino and Racing (1800 SW Third St., Pompano Beach, 954-972-2000, gives away a Smart Car on Thursday. Players who show up between 9 a.m. and noon get five more drawing entries. Then from 5-8 p.m., 10 slot players each hour will win $250 in free play. The drawing at 9 p.m. is for the Smart Passion Coupe.

Hialeah Park Casino (2200 E. Fourth Ave., Hialeah,, 305-885-8000) has a Mustang GT Giveaway Thursday night (Halloween) at midnight. Drawing entries must be in the casino’s drum by 11 p.m. The winner can take either the car or $20,000 cash.

And then there’s a group with great music to drive to. The Pointer Sisters play Casino Miami Jai-Alai (3500 NW 37th Ave., Miami, 305-633-6400 or at 9 p.m. Saturday. Try zipping along the highway to “Jump (For My Love),” or “I’m So Excited” or the “Neutron Dance” (from “Beverly Hills Cop”.) General admission is $18.50 (VIPs $74.50) via
