Cash giveaways at area casinos

Now that every has filed their income taxes, casinos realize it’s a good time for cash giveaways.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood, 866-502-7529, is telling its visitors to Take the Money and Run (they gotta, gotta be using that Steve Miller song) from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Players may earn electronic entries through 7:59 p.m. Tuesday, but the drawings start hourly at 1 p.m. It’s $5,000 cash every hour through 5 p.m., and then starts rising. The giveaway is $10,000 at 6 p.m., $15,000 at 7 p.m. and $25,000 at 8 p.m.

Seminole Classic Casino (4150 N. State Road 7, 954-961-3220, has a $30K giveaway on Saturday, and then a party for previous jackpot winners — with more giveaways — on Sunday. On Saturday, one person will win $10,000 cash at 3, 6 and 9 p.m. Then, on Sunday, it’s the Classic Jackpot Party. Ten players who have hit a taxable jackpot ($600 or more) since March 1 will win $1,000 in free play at 8:30 p.m., so they can win something to pay off the tax portion of their first jackpot.

The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., Coconut Creek, 954-977-6700, will hold its monthly $10K Birthday Giveaway from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday. Every hour, one April date is drawn. Those people whose birthday matches the date of the selected ticket will be eligible to split $2,000.

Mardi Gras Casino (831 N. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-924-3200, concludes its weekly Cookin’ up the Cash promotion with a 9 p.m. drawing. Players must earn 30 slot points from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to enter. Those selected choose a pot from the Mardi Gras Kitchen, which contains a share of $25,000 cash.

Baseball season has started, so Isle Casino and Racing (1800 SW Third St., Pompano Beach, 954-972-2000, has a $25,000 Grand Slam giveaway Friday. Hourly drawings are from 5 to 9 p.m. for four winners for $1,000 in free play. The grand prize is $5,000 cash at 10:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Magic City Casino (450 NW 37th Ave., Miami, 305-649-3000, offers Rick Springfield (odds are really good he’ll sing “Jessie’s Girl”) at 8 p.m. Saturday, along with former Runaways’ lead guitarist Lita Ford. Tickets cost $20-$75. Go to
