Seminole casinos continue to dominate South Florida’s multimillion-dollar poker scene. This time, it’s the Lucky Hearts Poker Open, running through Jan. 24 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood, 800-937-0010, SeminoleHardRockHollywood.com).

You still have time to register for more than 20 events and dozens of satellites. Headliners are the Jan. 11-16 WPT DeepStacks No-Limit Hold ’em, which has a guaranteed purse of $1 million and costs $1,100 to play, and the Jan 19-24 WPT NLH Championship, which pays out at least $2 million with buy-ins of $3,500.

If you have $50,000 to put down, you can play the Super High Roller NLH, where you might win $1 million.

Buy-ins for other poker events start at $150.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., 954-977-6700, CasinoCoco.com), “Fred A.” of Delray Beach won the monthly Andy Slater “See You Later” Poker Tournament. A deal was made on the final table so that the remaining five players would split $14,389.

After 306 entries bought in at $94 to play in the no-limit Texas hold ’em tournament, the guaranteed payout was $20,000.

Slater, host of a radio show on 940 WINZ-AM, played in the tournament.

“Another full house last night, but I wish I was referring to my cards,” he told me. “My final table was at a restaurant in the casino.”

CASINO ROCK

Raspy rocker Rod Stewart, one of the most popular singers in history (“Maggie May,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy”), and pop icon Cyndi Lauper (“Girls Just Want To Have Fun,” “She Bop”) will perform at the Seminole Hard Rock on July 24. Tickets cost from $95 to $355.

Kid Rock (“Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy”) will play the casino on Feb. 7. Tickets cost $70-$155.

OF DOGS AND MEN

The spring jai alai season at the Casino at Dania Beach (301 E. Dania Beach Blvd., 954-920-1511, CasinoDaniaBeach.com) started on Jan. 3 and runs until April 27. Performances begin 1 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays.

Greyhounds are competing for $50,000 in the He’s My Man Classic at Palm Beach Kennel Club (1111 N. Congress Ave., West Palm Beach, 561-683-2222, PBKennelClub.com). Round 2 will take place on Saturday, Jan. 13, with 56 dogs running in seven qualifying races.

After two more rounds, Jan. 17 and 21, eight finalists will compete on Saturday, Jan. 27. Tip Top, a winner of 16 consecutive races, is a favorite to take first — and $25,000 for his owners.
