Correspondent

More big-name acts are headed to South Florida casinos during tourist season. I already reported on several big-name acts coming up, and now there are a few more.

Comedian Ron White will perform April 27 at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood, 800-937-0010, SeminoleHardRockHollywood.com). White became famous as the scotch-drinking cigar smoker on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and on his Comedy Central special "You Can't Fix Stupid." His performance is being billed as "an all-new standup comedy show intended for mature audiences." Tickets cost from $40 to $80.

And due to high demand, comedian Chris Rock has added a second night at Hard Rock Live. He'll now perform March 29-30 as part of "The Total Blackout Tour 2017," his first tour in nine years. Tickets go for $65 to $180.

Blood Sweat & Tears ("You've Made Me So Very Happy," "Spinning Wheel") will play at the Casino at Dania Beach (301 E. Dania Beach Blvd., 954-920-1511, CasinoDaniaBeach.com) on Jan. 28. Bo Bice, the Season 4 runner-up on "American Idol," is now lead singer for the classic rock-jazz band. Tickets cost $25.

On Feb. 25, 1980s girl groups Exposé ("Come Go With Me," "Point of No Return") and Sweet Sensation ("Hooked on You," "Love Child") will be at Magic City Casino (450 NW 37th Ave., Miami, 305-649-3000, MagicCityCasino.com). Tickets cost $15.

On Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28, Mardi Gras Casino (831 N. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-924-3200, MardiGrasCasinoFL.com) will host Orleans ("Dance With Me," "Still the One") with special guest Gary Wright ("Dream Weaver") as part of its big finale for Mardi Gras Mania. Tickets for the 90-minute show cost from $20 to $60. A fireworks display will follow.

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., 954-977-6700 or CasinoCoco.com) will host veteran insult comic Don Rickles and TV icon Regis Philbin together on Saturday, March 4. The show, titled "A Don Rickles & Regis Philbin Laughfest: Stories, Clips and Fun," will take palce at the casino's Pavilion performance space. Tickets cost $75-$150.

Big dog races at PBKC

A record 72 greyhounds were scheduled to compete in Round 1 qualifying action of the $50,000 He's My Man Classic on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Palm Beach Kennel Club (1111 N. Congress Ave., West Palm Beach, 561-683-2222, PBKennelClub.com).

The same dogs will return for Round 2 on Saturday, Jan. 14. Then, the top 32 will run in Round 3 on Jan. 18. The top 16 will go to the semifinals on Sunday, Jan. 22, and the final eight will race around the track for the big payout on Jan. 28.

The classic is the first event in PBKC's $150,000 Big 3 Stakes series, which also includes the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby on Feb. 25 and the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney Sr. St. Patrick's Invitational on March 18.
