Stars aligning at South Florida casinos

Correspondent

Is it just me or does this year’s tourist season have more big-name acts at local casinos than last year’s? Soon, we’ll be giving Vegas a run for its money.

Comedian Kevin Hart has added a second show at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood, 800-937-0010, SeminoleHardRockHollywood.com). In addition to Dec. 22, he’ll perform Dec. 21 ($70-$150).

Also performing at the casino are “IMomSoHard” comedians Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley (Jan. 11/$30-$50) and “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah (Jan. 26/$40-$90).

Onstage in February will be Season 25 dancers from “Dancing With the Stars” (Feb. 15/$40-$95), Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (Feb. 16-17/$40-$80) and Jerry Seinfeld (Feb. 23-24/$80-$180).

They’ll be followed by the Tenderloins, the comedy troupe from truTV’s “Impractical Jokers” (March 10/$50-$95).

The Village People (Dec. 31/$95), with original singer Victor Willis, will play at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., 954-977-6700, CasinoCoco.com) on New Year’s Eve, starting at 11 p.m.

Magic City Casino (450 NW 37th Ave., Miami, 305-649-3000, MagicCityCasino.com) will have the Rock 2K Music Festival, featuring Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth and Uncle Kracker (Feb. 24/$15-$100).

Marvin Dixon will present “Fifty Shades of Comedy” (Dec. 23/$20-$25) at the Casino at Dania Beach (301 E. Dania Beach Blvd., 954-920-1511, CasinoDaniaBeach.com).

Blood Sweat & Tears ($35-$45) will perform there on Feb. 3 at 8 p.m.

This Saturday, Danay Suarez will sing at Hialeah Park Racing and Casino (100 E. 32nd St., 305-885-8000, HialeahPark.com). Lucy Grau is next, performing Friday, Nov. 17, followed by Jose Fajardo Jr. and Tito Puente Jr. the next night.

The Habana Boys will perform at Hialeah March 2-4. The Hialeah concerts are free to attend.

CHOPPED

In the November $200,000 no-limit hold ’em tournament at Isle Casino Pompano Park (777 Isle of Capri Circle, Pompano Beach, 954-972-2000, TheIslePompanoPark.com), six players agreed to a chop, with Nagui Yassa of Deerfield Beach being declared the winner. He pocketed $20,750. Runner-up Bobby Leff of Fort Lauderdale earned $20,477. They bested 622 entries who bought in at $360.

PURPLE REIGN

Throughout November, you’ll see lots of purple at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, which is supporting Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Employees are wearing wristbands, ribbon and pins in the color, and the interior is adorned with it.

Fundraising includes an Art and Fashion Celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Legends Lounge. It’ll be hosted by Capt. Lee Rosbach of Bravo TV’s “Below Deck” and features fine art from Blackburn Galleries, fashion by Bloomingdale’s, live entertainment and NYY Steak fare.

Tickets cost $125 and can be purchased by calling 954-585-5379. Proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Also, Coco employees will participate in the PurpleStride Broward-Palm Beach 2017 Walk on Sunday, Nov. 19.
