To Paris via Gulfstream

With Valentine's Day approaching, romance is in the air. Well, for some people. So a trip to Paris may make for a pretty darned good present, especially if it comes from someone who hangs out at a casino. Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino (901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-454-7000, is giving away a trip to the City of Love at 10 p.m. every Tuesday in February. Slot players can earn drawing entries starting at 9 a.m. Tuesdays, and two patrons will win $250 in free play every hour from noon to 9 p.m. At 10 p.m., someone will win the trip, which is valued at $4,000.

At Seminole Classic Casino (4150 N. State Road 7, 954-961-3220,, one player will have the chance to break a piñata for a prize of up to $3,000 cash. The promotion will take place every 30 minutes from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and Feb. 24. All unclaimed prizes will roll to the final smash of the night. Players can earn drawing entries from now through 8:45 p.m. Monday. For the Feb. 24 event, drawing accumulation will begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The big promotion at Mardi Gras Casino (831 N. Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, 954-924-3200, is Carnival of Cash, with more than $70,000 in cash available. On Mondays, slot players can earn extra entries into the drawing. The money flows from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays.

Thursday is the Tunnel of Love Promotion at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek (5550 NW 40th St., 954-977-6700, Three players will be drawn every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Two receive $200 free play and the third gets to try for up to $10,000.

The Marshall Tucker Band will play Casino Miami Jai-Alai (3500 NW 37th Ave., Miami, 305-633-6400 or at 9 p.m. Saturday. General-admission seating is free, while VIP seating, which includes a free drink and a meet-and-greet, costs $75.

Hialeah Park (2200 E. Fourth Ave.,, 305-885-8000) gives its free play away very quickly on Sundays this month. From noon to midnight, a slot player is selected to win $100 free play every five minutes. That's a total of $50,000 in free play.
