The line between slot machines, video games and TV has blurred even more, as machines based on “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “The Twilight Zone” have hit local casinos.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino began offering the games, manufactured by International Game Technology, a little more than a month ago.
The Beverly Hillbillies game includes video clips and interactive content from the sitcom, and is voiced by Max Baer Jr., who played Jethro in the series. Bonus rounds include Elly May’s Match Bonus, the Clampetts’ Free Spins Bonus and the Millionaire Mile Bonus, which then branches into Granny’s Rheumatiz Pick Bonus, Jethro’s Jobs Pick Bonus and Mr. Drysdale’s Bank Bonus.
There have been slot machines based on “The Twilight Zone” for years, but this one is in 3D.
Voiced by a Rod Serling impersonator, symbols include a door, clock, eye and spinal cord. Trivia questions and puzzles pop up for the players.
Bill Luckhardt, a longtime fan of the show, tried the game at the Hard Rock and said he received more bonus credits because he knew trivia that popped up.
“I remembered a show, and figured it out,” he says. “I like slot machines where the players get to make some decisions.”
