Poker dealer schools usually involve hours of training in person and an ability to juggle a schedule, but now there's an online option.
Poker pros Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Rob Mizrachi, along with longtime friend Stacy Matuson, decided to expand their Hollywood-based poker dealer school online, to help train a professional workforce worldwide.
“We get calls from all over the world from people wanting to attend our Florida state-sanctioned
land based school, but most of them cannot afford to travel and stay for the six weeks it takes to complete our course," Mizrachi said. He said dealer school personnel were contacted by a local software developer of e-Learning courses, called Whiz Gaming, to create an online version of the course.
"It was a no-brainer,” Mizrachi said.
Dealers make good money, he noted, and local card rooms such as Gulfstream Park Racing and Casnio have hired graduates of his school.
Robert Mizrachi, president and co-founder of the Mizrachi Dealer Academy said “Both my
brother and I have had great success as professional poker players, because we were
professional poker dealers before. We feel that this online course will contribute to the growth of
the poker industry and it makes us proud to be able to contribute.”
Dennis Nadeau, CEO of Whiz Gaming stated, “We’re excited to partner with one of the most
recognized faces in the world of poker. This opens up a tremendous opportunity for those
seeking a career in the growing casino industry, for people who need a cost effective and flexible
option that an online course offers”.
