There’s a fresh look at the Palm Beach Kennel Club poker room, with new carpet, paint, wallpaper, poker tables, TVs and chairs.
The kennel club’s first floor shut down for 10 days in July for the upgrades, which were needed for a room that opened back in 1997.
“We have had the great distinction of being one of the busiest, largest and most popular poker rooms in the state of Florida,” said PBKC Vice President Joe Rooney. “This renovation reinforces our commitment to our poker room operations and the players who enjoy the games here.”
The room was completed in time for the World Series of Poker Circuit events that began July 30 and continue through Monday.
The kennel club, which is consistently among the top three in revenues for pari-mutuels, has 64 tables and covers two floors. The second floor is a tournament area that opened about five years ago.
