A $94 buy-in poker tournament hosted by a sports radio personality continues to attract players, and is part of a big month at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
The guaranteed prize pool payout is $20,000 in the monthly Andy Slater See You Later tournament, an event that has been going on for about three years and began with a $6,400 prize pool. The next one will begin 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.
Slater is on the air from 2 to 4 p.m. on 940-AM WINZ.
Players get 8,000 in chips, and there are three celebrity bounties. The prize for knocking out those players is free entry into the May event.
On April 22, the Coco Poker Spring Series will begin a 12-day run, with an Omaha High-Low tournament that costs $140 to enter. On April 23, a $50,000 guaranteed tournament will begin, with an $80 buy-in. Players can enter at 11 a.m. or 6 p.m. April 23-25.
The main event will guarantee $250,000 in total prize money, with entries available at 7 p.m. April 29 and 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 30-May 2. Buy-in is $350.
For cash players, the poker room, called Stax Poker Lounge, is offering $1,000 hourly high hands from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Fridays. Mondays and Wednesdays offer bonus hands — instead of high hands — with players receiving $100 for aces full, $150 for four of a kind, $300 for a straight flush and $500 for a royal flush.
