Mardi Gras at Mardi Gras

It's that time of year in New Orleans, and it's that time of year again at Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach.

The casino will hold its annual Mardi Gras Mania from Sunday through Tuesday, with live entertainment, indoor parades, the Junkanoo Band, showgirls and giveaways.

On Tuesday, the day of the big celebration in New Orleans, slot players can win a share of $30,000 from noon to midnight, with a $20,000 cash giveaway at 9 p.m.

The French Quarter Restaurant will serve a Cajun buffet on the third floor. A bead toss will take place in the grandstand, and fireworks will go off at 10 p.m.

Party pit at Creek

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is reviving its "party pit," and the blackjack dealers, called Coco Girls, are getting new uniforms.

The unveiling will come in the form of a free fashion show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Oscar Garcia-Lopez, the Season 1 winner of the "Project Runway" spinoff series "Under the Gunn," did the designing.

"America's Next Top Model" finalist Alexandra Agro and her twin sister, fashion model Catie Agro, will walk the catwalk accompanied by the designer and the Coco Girls. The Agro sisters, from Boca Raton, are the 'faces' of the Coco Girl campaign, serving as ambassadors throughout South Florida for Coco Girl recruitment events, advertising and promotions.

The casino recently recruited more than 30 Coco Girls to deal blackjack, baccarat, three-card poker and more.

WSOP at kennel club

Palm Beach Kennel Club poker players are getting pretty familiar with World Series of Poker Circuit Events.

The most lucrative of the series' 12 events starts Friday, with Day 1s at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday. It costs $1,675 to enter.

There are also a $135 women's tournament at 7 p.m. Saturday and a $250 seniors' event at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The WSOP Circuit for 2014-15 kicked off at the kennel club in August, with Tristan Wade of Boynton Beach winning the main event and $106,806. The kennel club is the only poker room with two stops on the 21-venue tour, which ends May 24.
